Set to the tune of She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain, which is one of the tunes I played regularly in the early 1990s with a fiddler/guitarist/vocalist who lived near me in Philly's Germantown neighborhood at the time, a North Carolina transplant who moved back home a few years later.
These are lyrics I wrote later, mostly in the 1990s, with a few changes and additions in 2020, when I recorded them.
Most refer to friends who used to frequent a Germantown house on Coulter Street.
One refers to a couple of volleyball-playing friends I knew from the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Germantown, Allen's Lane Art Center, Abington YMCA, Clark Park, Glendinning Rock Garden, Lloyd Hall, and other volleyball hot spots in the area.
