Before being laid off in June 2012, I was working as a Development Associate for Nonprofit Technology Resources (NTR), where I had worked off and on since I first volunteered there in 1996. From 2001 until 2008, I worked at NTR as a Development Associate and Technical Support Specialist, writing grant proposals, refurbishing computers, training staff and volunteers from community organizations, purchasing office supplies, and providing administrative support.
While an undergraduate in Drexel University's Computing Technology program, I began doing some part-time consulting work in 2004 designing and maintaining MS-Access databases on Drexel's Hahnemann campus for the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Most of that work was for the Physician Assistant Department, where I worked on a six-month project in 2009.
