    I was born in 1953 in Lawrence, Kansas, in the good old US of A, about five time zones shy of April Fool's. Carted from stem to stern in my formative years, I severed the umbilical at 19 and settled in the Phila area. Sure I miss Lawrence, Kansas, where for my first 90 days, i hung in the hood with wilt the stilt, Amherst, Massachusetts, GI village, where I learned to crawl & toddle, Providence, Rhode Island, where I learned to whine, Amherst, Massachusetts, Lincoln Ave, and the little red schoolhouse, where I learned to cut and paste, identify dinosaurs, ride a bike, study geology and anatomy, Williamstown, Massachusetts, where I learned to swim, ice skate, play recorder, picture the north end of a southbound cow pitch cow pies on a farm in the shade of Mt Greylock, Middlebury, Vermont, where I learned to ski, play badminton, chess, piano, trombone, appreciate kingston trio, edith piaf, the beatles, jimmy yancey, jack teagarden, bob dylan on highway 61 revisited, Wichita, Kansas, where I started playing volleyball, discovered frank zappa, johnny winter, robert johnson, paul butterfield, woody guthrie, phil ochs, where I yearned for a mandolin but settled for an old cracked bit of imagine a mandolin - pear-shaped unlike mine italian woodcarving, scarborough beach, rhode island, where I spent the summer of 1967 with family, with field trips to spectacle pond in beautiful cranston, newport jazz festival, newport folk festival, where I saw arlo .
