Growing up on the farm
Growing up on the farm, Flo learned how to do things with her hands and to tackle any project with curiosity and the confidence that she could figure it out. She was an expert berry-picker and a quick study. She attended grade school (in a one-room schoolhouse?) in the small town of Wales where the family farm was located.
