Franklin, Tennessee, 1972-79
In 1972, most of the family moved to Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville,
while 19-year-old David moved into the city of Philadelphia.
For the next seven years, John was Professor of English and Director of Freshman English
at George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville.
At the Franklin house, Flo kept a garden, raised quail, built a laboratory and an in-ground swimming pool.
In addition to her chemistry research, she found time to work at a nearby nursery.
